The Overlord design is more common than the Mars class, although like the Mars the number of these venerable ships is steadily decreasing as their production rate has fallen far short of their loss rate. This class of ship is noted for its exceptionally long ranged weapons batteries that allow it to provide able support to the fleet's other long range gunnery assets, such as the Emperor and Retribution battleships. The Peacemaker has been in service for approximately 1,000 years and traveled halfway across the galaxy in her journeys. Unfortunately, she has missed major combat on several occasions; for example, she arrived mere months too late to take place in the major fighting of the Gothic War, and as a result of a warp storm she didn't arrive in the Armageddon sector until 3 years after the Ork menace had been beaten back.
