THE UNDAUNTED Dictator-class Cruiser (220 pts)
Dictator class cruisers are rarely built as such from the keel up. Normally, ships of this class are converted from badly damaged Lunar class cruisers. When these crippled vessels limp into port, the decision is often made to completely remove the ruined lance decks and replace them with launch bays and hangars, converting the ship into a medium carrier. Such is the case with the Undaunted, formerly the Lunar class Impertinent. The Impertinent was badly damaged in the closing moments of the Gothic War, but her repairs became a low priority with the defeat of Abaddon. Eventually, she emerged from the yards in the Dictator configuration, and was assigned to Battlegroup Fortitas at the request of Admiral Ruckdog to provide additional attack craft support. However, she is often detached with a few escorts for independent operations, such as tracking down pirates or escorting convoys. As such, she tends to be absent at the Battlegroup's major fleet engagements. By Andy Rucker |
