New Years Resolutions for 2010

Ahhh, a brand new year. Time for some resolutions! This is actually the first time I've sat down and made a list of resolutions to keep. Usually, this sort of thing inhabits the realm of a half-hearted internal monologue, so hopefully the fact that these are recorded somewhere will help me keep to them (yeah, right!). So, without further ado:

  1. Get my weight down to the Navy-approved limit of 196 pounds. This one is going to require reigning in my sweet tooth a bit, as well as figuring out how to hold to some sort of workout schedule. The workout schedule especially is something I've struggled with in the past.

  2. Improve my Warhammer 40k skills. This one is going to require that I actually get around to playing 40k, which is something that has somehow eluded me for the last 6 months! As a related goal, I want to get caught up with my army building & painting, which I would say I am a bit behind on.

  3. Stay in better touch with my family and friends. This is something I've never been very good at, but new tools like my iPhone and Facebook are making this task considerably easier!

  4. Read more. I have been doing a little better with this the past year, but I continue to find it difficult to fit in time to read books with all the other things I have going on. Do war gamming rule books count?

  5. Make it to church more often. I have not been attending Mass as often as I would like. Partly, this has been due to the fact that I've been at sea quite a bit, but a lot of times it is down to just my one plain laziness.

  6. And last, but not least, I resolve to spend more quality time with Gwen ;).

Well, there you have it. 2009 wasn't such a bad year; It was busy, certainly, what with the San Fran finally getting back to sea and getting married and all. But, I feel confident that 2010 will be an even better year!
