Merry Christmas! |
|
It sure feels nice to be home
for a little while. I hope all of you had a very nice Christmas, I know
I sure did. Things got kicked off in fine style when Navy buried CSU
51-30 at the Emerald Bowl. Of course, since the game was played on the
Left coast, it wasn't over until well after 2:00 AM. Since I had to get
up at 0430 for my flight anyway, I decided I would just stay up and
sleep on the plane. That worked out pretty well, actually! However, by
the time I did get home I was pretty tired.
Anyway, I got a lot of new games
for Christmas, including Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Trauma Center:
Under the Knife, and Metroid Prime 2. Add to all of that the copies of
Final Fantasy IV and Civilization IV I picked up and I'm in for a pretty
busy break! And actually, I might just get another game if my girlfriend
got me one for Christmas. I won't find out until I I see her on Friday! |

One More Week! |
|
Its hard to believe that
Christmas is only one week away. I'm excited to be going home and taking
a little break, that's for sure. But first, I have to get past my
physics test on Wednesday. Consequently, the next few days will probably
be a bit busy. Oh well, I can sleep on the plane!
I had a bit of an adventure last
night. I was on my way to the choir Christmas party, but I got lost. Not
just a little lost, but horribly lost. My already poor sense of
direction was not aided by an ambiguous Google map, the dark and rainy
conditions, or the fact that South Carolina apparently has some sort of
law against easily-read street signs. I did finally make it to the
party, but it took me an hour and a half. It is this sort of thing that
makes me think it would be worth the 600 bucks for a portable GPS car
navigation system! I
finished Metroid Prime Friday night. I have to say, it is an amazing
game, and now I'm looking forward to trying out Metroid Prime 2 at some
point. Not only that, but Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS is nearing
release. Metroid goodness for all! In other news, if you haven't seen it
yet, try catching an episode of
IGPX on
Cartoon Network. It is a very slick series, and added to Naruto, Zatch
Bell, and One Piece it makes Saturday nights a heck of a time for
Toonami.
Oh! I almost forgot that this
Thursday is the Poinsettia Bowl.

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas
|
|
Power School is really starting
to pick up! There is a little over a week and a half left before
Christmas, and I have two tests in that time. Looks like a lot of long
hours studying coming up. Oh well, there is a light at the end of the
tunnel in that I get to go home for a week when it is all over. I hear
there is 8 inches of snow on the ground in Indiana, and I hope they save
some for me! Of late, I
haven't been playing much Battlefield 2. You see, right before
Thanksgiving I picked up Metroid Prime Pinball for my DS. This game is
really well done; not only is it a good game in its own right, but it
also captures the Metroid atmosphere perfectly. So much so, in fact,
that I have been inspired to start playing Metroid Prime on my GameCube
again. I'm really enjoying it much more this time around, although I'm
not sure why. Looking at the game, it is hard to believe that it is 3
years old already. The graphics and gameplay have really stood the test
of time I must say. Suffice to say, pretty much all of my gaming time
(severely limited as of late due to my school schedule) has gone towards
Metroid Prime.
Speaking of the DS, it has been
about a year since it has come out. So, I decided to put together a
quick article to discuss how far the system has come over that time.
Check it out below! |

BEAT ARMY!
|
|
Four in a row baby! The first
quarter and a half of the game had me a little worried, but once Navy's
offense got rolling, it was all over for Army. Navy rolled up more than
500 yards running offense on the way to a 42-23 rout, a record for the
series! This victory was huge in so many ways...3rd CIC trophy in a row,
the 50th win in the Army-Navy series, 4th straight victory over
Army...wow. The Army-Navy game has always been a memorable event, but
this year will be especially memorable. I have to say, it was nice
watching the game from the comfort of my apartment, instead of standing
in below-freezing weather all day!
Speaking of weather, it is so
hard to get in the Christmas spirit here. I have had my radio tuned to a
local station that plays nothing but Christmas carols, but when it is 70
degrees and sunny like it was today, even that just doesn't cut it! Oh
well, the remaining three weeks till I get off to go home will fly by
pretty quickly. I've got 4 tests in that time, so I'll be doing so much
studying it will go fast.
By the way, if you were
wandering why the site was down for a while, my contact info on file at
GeoCities had expired, and this caused them to take my site off line.
All I had to do was update my info, and presto! The site is back up. |
