Heh, managed to let the site
slid for almost two months. I couldn't let the month of March completely
pass me by without getting something up, though! This week marks the 8th
anniversary of this site; I am still trying to wrap my head around that.
I honestly figured that I would have completely lost interest in this
project years ago!
So, I offer the usual apologies
for the lack of updates the last couple of months. There has been a lot
going on in my private and personal life that has kept me otherwise
occupied, however. Now that the spring term for my masters classes is
almost over, I'm hoping that I will have a little more time to put into
a couple of longstanding "wish list" updates for the site. Specifically,
there are a number of new updates I would like to make to the various
gaming sections, and I feel like it is about time for another rant ;).
World events have been pretty
crazy, too. I can't believe how rapidly events have been unfolding in
the Middle East. That whole region has always been unstable, but now it
looks like someone has put a match to the tinderbox. I can only hope and
pray that the ultimate outcome for the people living there is a good
one. As if this crisis wasn't enough, the details surrounding the
earthquake and tsunami in Japan have been heartbreaking. Thankfully, it
appears that my host family from my stay there are alright. Also, my
nuclear training allows me to great the sensationalist news about the
damaged Japanese nuclear power plants with amusement rather than alarm.
To be sure, it is a serious situation, but the consequences of the
nuclear contamination released from the Fukushima Daiichi plant pale in
comparison to the tens of thousands killed by the tsunami.
Today's update is actually one I
meant to post last month; it is a selection of pictures I posted when I
visited Cape Canaveral a while back. I got the opportunity to tour
several historic launch sites, so enjoy! |
